Like I said, the ending fits the franchise, and it works – minus that one particular thing Takeo Saeki does – and it did throw me of balance while reading it, feeling confused, not knowing what was going on and what would happen next. Like The Ringit was not as scary as the Japanese version though. We basically follow the ghosts as they stalk and kill multiple victims. I love how it gives the Ju-On movies a more defined background story.

I love the horror genre and this does it for me. I was already reading a few other books but this book is a short read with a lot in it. The book went into more detail about the actual curse whereas the films merely touched on it.

I guess I’d recomment this for anyone who’s a fan of this franchise, or a casual horror reader. Search the history of over billion web pages on the Internet. I would advice this book to anyone who wants to know more of japan ghost stories and j more of the Ju-On saga.

Overall it was okay I suppose. One particular thing that happens I didn’t really like – it wasn’t exactly out of character, I guess, but felt unnecessary. It wasn’t scary, like the films, but it was creepy, especially seeing Kayako’s diary entries, and knowing the feelings of all characters involved.
