I’ve read Tolle, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Frankl, Burkeman, Pressfield, and Lao Tzu – all talking about the same kind of concepts that Gallwey discusses in this fantastic piece of writing, and while it was Gallwey that pushed me over the edge I think it was all the other writers that pointed me in the direction of the edge in the first place. I wish he made this just a generic book about how to improve your game- in any sport.

I’ll be forever grateful for finding this book, and I suspect it’ll galley on my nightstand for many years to come.

For the player of the Inner Game, it is the moment-by-moment effort to let go and to stay centered in the here-and-now action which offers the real winning and losing, and this game never ends. Instead we have to let self 2 imagine how to do what itmothy want it to do, and then let self 2 do that. I have not read this book but I trust the reviewer.

This is a must-read for, well, basically anybody who wants to improve at whatever they do and take pride in! A very good book on the “selves” involved in learning, as well as how to learn naturally. Here and now are the gallwdy place and time when one ever enjoys himself or accomplishes anything. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone, especially fellow athletes.

What I really wanted, I realized, was to overcome the nervousness that was preventing me from playing my best and enjoying myself. It was actually recommended to me by my oboe teacher, but has also been brought ga,e by shooting coaches and, yes, tennis coaches.

The book is quite strange to read if you go into it without any plans to start learning tennis in the future but you read it anyway because of all the high recommendations.

I don’t even play tennis and this book has helped my mental and physical approach to and performance in sports, namely basketball.
