Don’t have an account yet? Togakure-ryu simply can not be traceable before Takamatsu, so I believe that he is the real founder of this Ryu-ha. But in a Catch, those people tend to belong to a Takamatsuden school so you have to account for their bias.
So technically the Gyokko Ryu and therefore Gikan Ryu and Koto Ryu complement each other really well, and they form the basis of self defense in the Togakure Ryu too. Koto Ryu is a hard natured discipline, so it really requires conditioning and tough training.
Seriously, you might pick up some useful leads from people in this forum, but for the most part even those of us who at one point did care have stopped wasting energy on the matter. Most if rryu all Bujinkan teachers I encounter teach taijutsu alone and nothing else. Considering there are branches of Gyokko-ryu completely unrelated to Takamatsu or the ninjers Like Gyokko Ryuit is thought to have originated from China, being brought to Japan by gyokkk monk called Chan Busho, but when, or even if this is true, remains a mystery.
