Quite the eye opener about how Monsanto has intertwined themselves with the US government, our food supply and it’s global effect of close to a monopoly on the sale of seeds for crops. Earlier decades of diversity and crop rotation preserved the country’s soil quality, but this changed after soybean monoculture moved in, with its heavy dependence on chemical fertilizers. If current prices stay high and shortages persist, millions will die – maybe by design.

They were the losers so that agribusiness giants could exploit large new markets for their chemicals, machinery and other product inputs. It was a cover for US agricultural interests to engineer the transformation of family farming into global agribusiness, with food the tool and small farmers eliminated so their land could be used most effectively.
