Does not cover computational methods. Sivia provides a very readable and comprehensive explanation of the Bayesian methods.

He recommended this text as a good introduction to the theory and he is correct. This book is well written and comprehensive. As a physics student I was frustrated by statistics with its apparent lack of conceptual foundation and the toolbox approach to data analysis.

Despite that though, I think I managed to absorb a lot of the principles of and the rationale behind the bayesian approach to statistical analysis, and I look forward to understanding the detail once I’ve dealt with some of the mathematical dependencies!
