Swamiji’s unparalleled mastery of diverse fields of knowledge was the outcome of his capacity for remembering what he had learned. My teacher Sree Swami Thapovanam had a great reverence for Sree Chattampi Swamikal and it is in fact from Sri Gurudev that I heard so often of the spiritual and mystical glory of this rare sage of Kerala. MESSAGE Swamiji belonged to the rare band of reli- gious xwamikal and world benefactors who live a selfless life in the midst of the common people.
He learnt Tamil and Sanskrit from the books he borrowed from school boys. He sdamikal learned Siddha medicine, music, and martial arts. On Medam, 20, two of his admirers met him and 59 insisted that he cuattampi go to Quilori.
Life and work of Sri Chattampi Swamikal
The divided leadership of the Nayars hampered the efforts of C. If he was afraid of anything it was the heat of the sun, which made him avoid travel by day. But no generous persons volunteered to take him in hand and make use of the opportunity for the exercise of his ex traordinary talents. They set an example for others to follow. Many prominent people of central Kerala visited Swamiji and received his blessings and advice.
Swamiji delighted in bathing in the Meena- chil river. He started at once for Karunagappalli. His 26 refusal to accept the hospitality of Sri Sankaran Tampi, the Maharaja’s favourite, and of Dewan Rajagopalachari is famous. He was not only a singer but also a composer.
But Vedadliikaranirupanam is a notable contribution to critical literature. You are not my only friends. When the final moment came Swamikal sat himself in Padmasana and mediated on Brahman. Swamiji was one who encroached into this forbidden territory and astonished and thrilled Kerala. Entering the field of Advaita through the gateway of Sankara’s exposition Sw-imiji traverses the entire area and reaches the utmost bounds of this esoteric realm.
He collected all the pestles from them and himself completed theii? Chattampi Swamikal denounced the orthodox interpretation of Hindu texts citing sources from the Vedas. For the second and the last time in his life he now allowed him- self to be photographed.
To this end he studied vedanta through the ancient works in Malayalam and Tamil. During day time it used to be kept in the patippura.
Amidst the communal storms 51 that raged around him he stood unmoved and tranquil like the Himalayas. Guru of the highest order. He strongly refutes this sswamikal through valid and authoritative documents and through realistic vision. He had a lively sense of humour and he rippled with hearty laughter at his own jokes.

His disciples Theerthapa ParamahammsaSwamigal and Padmanabha Panicker remained beside Swamigal, solicitously attending on him. He was interested in acting, particularly in Kathakali.
His brahmacharya and intense tapas had conferred upon him chqttampi the Yogasiddhies. Quilon, Sadabdha Smaraka Grantham. Has not a man more mental strength than a dog?
A chera rat-snake which was being pelted with stones by some boys crept fast in front of Swamiji. He authored several books on spirituality, history, and language staying with these friends.
The Swamigal was not a propagandist or oraanizer in the modern sense of the word. Inspired by Swamikal, he prepared many works interpreting Advaita for the common man.
Swamikal promoted vegetarianism and professed non-violence Ahimsa. The owner found that he had no alternative but to shoot the animal dead. Among the drummers was a celebrated expert called Mun- tomepilli Marar.
The Asan was distressed by the suspicion that the youth was being tempted to vice. At Vaikam the Satyagraha was for the use of the road round the temple walls by the untouchables.
