It was like a cease-fire during which you could stop whatever you were doing and just stand by a window for hours, watching the performance, an endless curtain of tears falling from heaven.
Still, it zaffon entertain me, and it is after all a very short read, so definitely pick it up if you are a fan of Zafon or if you just happen to be interested in this ghost story.

This is just the perfect mystery for the young ones. The story begins promisingly. Book 21 of The story starts out in a light note, though war was mentioned several time, the main character, Max, is a young teenager whose point of view is both innocent and positive.
When Max found a strange walled garden behind the house, filled with eerie circus figures, the mystery started and we’re ccarlos to a cynical and SCARY tale of a legendary figure called the Prince of Mist or Dr.

FYI–the way I rate books, 3 stars means the book was “okay” and that I did finish it, but it wasn’t a story that really impressed me. Not really anything to do with this book but, well, I really hate clowns. It appeared to be an abandoned garden. Open Preview See a Problem? Reading this sent shivers up my spine, put goose pimples on my arms, and it had me screeching like a little girl. As time goes by the pace does build as the Carver children and their new friend Roland struggle to defend themselves against payback from this dark sinister entity.
Since its publication, La sombra del viento has garnered critical acclaim around the world and has won numerous international awards. This is fella debut novel and the writing shows that ,but it is still a good read for middle grade and it is not csrlos surprise that it was initially published as a YA novel.
I loved the characters,the story,and that ending Together, the three of them begin to unravel the mystery surrounding the town, which is entwined with an evil force from the past — an entity known as the Prince of Mist. Can dreams come true? They move to a small beach town which has more than its share of secrets.

Want to Read Currently Reading Read. The story is horror based and reminded me of IT. See all 5 questions about Il principe della nebbia…. People who love beautiful, atmospheric writing. I couldn’t get as into it even though I enjoyed the story. All of the above-mentioned reason made me curious nebbbia read it and see if it would scare me as much as I was hoping for.

I don’t know if details have been changed here to make the story more easy to relate to for English-language readers; if so, this was a mistake. I love and can’t out down Zafon’s Shadow of the Wind, so I was excited when I finally found the English translation of his first published novel, Prince of Mist. Things that should have been explained, but never are–like how the statue garden came into existence. The only thing he actually did discover truly on his own was something I had figured out very early on and, btw, created another big plot hole. This novel was originally written for people at all ages, but it was published as a YA novel. Now that he has achieved fame his publisher is bring these back in English translation, some of which won YA awards in Spain.

Max was hypnotised by the strange vision of the figures trapped in the undergrowth, locked inside a walled garden that reminded him of a village graveyard. Leerlo en Halloween fue un plus! First of all, this book is labeled YA but it reads like a middle grade book. I’m still interested in the author’s work and will probably read any further adult novels translated into English, mainly on the strength of The Angel’s Game.
