At a time when it is hard for poets to be either of these things, bearets time when our families and our politics seem equally bound up in sterile cycles of fear and retribution, Aeschylus may have much to teach. Now hear, you blissful powers underground — answer the call, send help. This is a very ominous moment in the play as loyalties and motives are questioned. The Climnestra’s anger is orrsteia in the Furies. It’ll take you some time to read, but it’s well worth it.

Highly recommend it if you enjoy Ancient Greek Literature. He is the earliest of the three Greek tragedians whose plays survive extant, the others being Sophocles and Euripides. But isn’t it about orestela and eye-for-an-eye taken to extremes? If he does kill his mother, same story.
